Beijing, Aug 29 (Prensa Latina) China and Latin America are today seeking to complement their relations with closer cooperation in the communication sector, especially at a time when the world is battling the Covid-19 pandemic.  That will was expressed in a joint statement issued a few hours ago by the China Media Group and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The parties advocated strengthening the exchange of information and unity, sharing experiences in the creation of reports alluding to the health crisis, and fostering mutual aid to disseminate data to the public.
They proposed promoting the development of strategic dialogues and contacts between press organizations on both sides, outline practical actions and agree on efforts to face the challenges imposed by the pandemic.
They also proposed to establish a mechanism called the Forum for Media Cooperation of Latin American Partners, which would meet alternatively in China and nations of that region.
The statement followed a virtual meeting where experts discussed the role of the press today and a special cooperation program of China Today news was launched, produced by the CCTV + channel.
