Mexico .- Spotify announced that the costs of its plans will increase in Mexico as of today, due to the Value Added Tax (VAT) of 16 percent, as reported by its users through an email where it details what the new price will be for the plan to which some are subscribed .
The A Swedish company pointed out that the new prices will be reflected from the aforementioned date, but in the case of having an active subscription, customers will be able to enjoy two extra months with the previous price, so it would be until the month of November that the new rate would be charged.
“You will have two extra months with the current price. You don't have to do anything, your invoice will be automatically updated during your next payment in November ”he stated.
On June 1, the application the 16 percent VAT came into force. the platforms of services and sale of digital products in Mexico, due to the tax reform approved in December 2019. Therefore, now on digital platforms Withholdings are applied to Income Tax (ISR) and VAT to these platforms.

– The Duo Plan will go from 129 to 149 pesos
– The Family Plan will go from 149 to 170 pesos  – The Students Plan will go from 49 to 57 pesos
