The first stable major version of Windows Terminal is completed, the 1.0 release of the open source application was unveiled by the company at the Build conference. The last version of Preview 0.9, which preceded the stable version of the Terminal tab, ran back in February, and now the terminal can finally be used by users who are reluctant to use previous versions.

Windows Terminal uses GPU acceleration to render text content, and also supports Unicode and UTF-8 characters, so anyone who likes it can display their emojis in the terminal. The package also includes Microsoft's latest Cascadia Code font, and by default the app uses Cascadia Mono. The interface can be customized with a transparent background or even custom wallpapers, fonts, color schemes, and custom key combinations for each function.
